A salute to you all
You may recall that in celebration of National Cask Ale Week we produced a special beer called Salute. In addition to donating a percentage of the sales of this beer to the Help for Heroes charity, a number of local pubs also kindly agreed to collect donations in collection pots on the bar. Our target was £500.00 however thanks to the generosity of pub-goers and publicans the final total looks to exceed this. A final count of all the coins should reveal the final total very soon. A huge thanks to everyone for helping us support this very worthy charity.

Don't miss out on the cider
It seems that our decision to stock the fabulous Westons cider was a good one. We have recently taken stock of our second delivery and will make sure there is plenty available for the second Bank Holiday of this month. It's going to be a sunny one!! Full details on the range of (now) five ciders, including prices can be found on our website - HERE

Miles and miles
As we reported last month, this year marks the 10th Anniversary of the Chiltern Way, a 137 mile walk around the Chiltern countryside managed by the Chiltern Society. To help celebrate, Tring Brewery will be brewing a special anniversary ale available during the end of May through to early June. A competition, open to all Chiltern Society members was run to find a name and we can now announce the winner is Mr Philip Lewis whose suggestion Nathaniel Titlark seemed to strike the right note. For the puzzled amongst you, Nathaniel Titlark was the first sitcom fictional character to be played by screen and stage actor, Sir Bernard Miles. Appropriately the episodes were set in the Chiltern Hills and the character Miles created, based on an earthy country fellow was described as 'a rare combination of poet, peasant, poacher, bird-watcher and connoisseur of fine beer'.

This special beer will be available from our shop and a full list of all pubs stocking the beer will be published on our website soon. In the meantime head over to http://www.chilternsociety.org.uk/ where you can not only see the great work the Chiltern Society does but also download a list of all the walks they are promoting as part of the anniversary celebrations.

Even more miles
From May 22nd - 29th stars of UK rugby past and present will be walking over 100 miles along the Grand Union Canal raising money for the Walk4Matt charity. At their overnight stop (Day 4), Tring Brewery will be playing host to the walkers and support team at Tring Cricket club. For more information on this event head over to www.walk4matt.org

Mooooving
Work at the brewery continues at a rapid pace with the ongoing site activity being of particular interest to our neighbouring bovine friends. If all continues as planned we will be in the new premises by July. There have been a number of questions regarding the new brewery and whether the change of premises will impact on our beer. These will be addressed in a new web page to be published next month however the simple answer is "it will be even better".

Tring Spring Fayre
Tring Together have, in conjunction with the local community, put together a series of events over the first two weeks of May. Monthly Special - Startop
Our special for April, Bring Me Sunshine, appeared to have worked its magic last week with some very fine weather. How strange it is then that with our new monthly special now available, the weather seems to be taking a turn for the worse!! One could conclude that with a name that refers to the Startop reservoir we deserve rain! From now on we may just name our beers after warm sunny places. Startop is a straw-coloured ale brewed with both pale and crystal malt. The finish is both dry and refreshing with a generous amount of Hallertau hops providing a very fine late hop aroma.
As with all our monthly specials, it is available for a limited period only. Click here to for more information on all Tring Brewery's 2010 monthly specials.
