Good Dog
If Colley's Dog, our 5.2% ale was in fact a real canine, I am pretty sure it could stroll away with Best in Show at Crufts. After a string of awards over the last few years "Colley's" has picked up yet another. This time it was the Supreme Champion Beer of the Festival award at the 2010 CAMRA Plymouth Beer Festival. What makes this one a little more special is that the voting was carried out by the festival visitors. Whilst it is doubtful that any single one of them managed to try the 104 beers available, Colley's Dog obviously stood out even though it was in the company of many other great beers from across the UK.  By means of a little tribute to the beers recent success we have used it in this months cooking with beer recipe.

GBBF 2010
Once again Tring Brewery has been invited to provide beer for the Great British Beer Festival. This time it's our Mansion Mild that will be caressing the taste buds of attendees. For more information on the GBBF, which takes place at Earls Court from 3rd - 7th August, click HERE.

The New Brewery
For those of you who have subscribed in the last week or have not read through our mid July update, here is the news on our new brewery....

After many months, Tring Brewery is proud to announce the completion of first stage of our move to new premises at Dunsley Farm, Tring (opposite Tesco).
As of Monday 19th July we are running the shop and office from the new site with opening times remaining as before. Production will continue at the Akeman Street site for a couple more weeks until all the new plant is fully tested and commissioned.

The new brewery has been a long time in the planning and we would like to thank you all for your patience. We promise it will be worth the wait..... there are a lot of exciting things on the horizon.

By the way did you notice our new logo on the header of this message. Any feedback can be directed to the address on the right.

Monthly Special -
Maid of the Mill

We have got to that point in the year when the light summery monthly specials begin to morph into something more robust for the ever darkening evenings. Just in case we are blessed with more hot weather we still have our fantastic seasonal ale Fanny Ebbs, amongst others. Anyway this months special is Maid of the Mill, a full bodied (but not heavy) amber coloured beauty with malty undertones balanced against a slight spiced note, imparted by the late hops.
As with all our monthly specials, it is available for a limited period only. Click here to for more information on all Tring Brewery's 2010 monthly specials.

Recipe of the Month - Lemon Dog Sorbet
Okay, so I may have given the impression that we are on the decline to autumn but that's no excuse not to indulge in something light, refreshing and Summery (although I would eat this all year round). In recognition of another Colley's Dog award we present Lemon Dog Sorbet.
